Summary of CDC V-SAFE Data from ICAN Lawsuit
From data of over 10M+ users, 3.4M individuals were impacted by adverse events, with 6.5M health impacts reported in total.
1.2M were unable to perform normal activities, 1.3M missed work, and 0.8M were hospitalised or required medical care.
The vast majority of adverse impacts were in White Americans, who had the highest vaccine uptake and currently still make up the largest demographic in the US. Non-whites in contrast make up only around ~20% of total adverse events despite making up a greater proportion of the general population.
Women were disproportionately impacted by adverse events, perhaps somewhat due to an increased likelihood to report health issues but mostly because immune disorders in general primarily impact women (read more here).
Overall most adverse events reported occurred on the second dose, this pattern is mirrored in the literature.
Over 750,000 events required care, of those over 360,000 needed urgent care, 113,000 went to the emergency room, and 72,000 were hospitalized.
